Freedom of the press...Not.
Not that the Constitution mattered to this Administration anyway, but come on. I don't know how much more leeway I can give before I start seriously looking for what must be the secret hideout of an inevitable build up of armed opposition in this country - since obviously elections don't matter in this anymore. (No, Mr. Ashcroft, that wasn't a threat, I swear! Really!) Could I FEEL more cynical? Anyway -- saw two wonderful articles, thanks to Take Back the Media, one from Buzzflash about the mass media darlings, namely, Coulter, Savage and Perle. Reminds us about Ann's famous: "We need to execute people like John Walker, in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too." Lovely lady she is. It talks about the famous broadcast from Walter Cronkite telling the truth about the Vietnam, in comparison to what we have now. Then there was this article about the Pentagon threatening journalists - nice. Guess we're not going to be asked to be the guest speaker at any upcoming "How to Make Friends and Influence People" parties.
