War Games and War Names...and The Business of War
We've got an official name for our new heightented state of security: Operation Liberty Shield. Wonder what the actual war will be called. Something pithy, I'm sure. Any suggestions?
Meanwhile, back in our not-so-secure-anymore-country, Ridge went on to tell reporters:
"We have taken these actions because intelligence
reporting indicates that while al Qaeda and those
sympathetic to their cause are still a principle threat --
the principle threat -- Iraqi state agents, Iraqi surrogate
groups, other regional extremist organizations
and ad-hoc groups or disgruntled individuals may
use this time period to conduct terrorist attacks
against the United States and our interests either here
or abroad," Ridge told reporters at a briefing
So who is the principle threat again? I got a little confused there.
Well, it's time to plan for tv schedules -- and the big media aren't too happy they are going to have to pre-empt commercials. Not to mention... NCAA tourneys could be cancelled, (gasp) the Oscars might not happen, and even worse... no reality shows for at least a week if war is declared! My god. The horror. The Horror.
